On perseverance

Abdu'l-Baha "explained the importance of education, and the secrets, which would lead to success. He considered success and progress in any field conditional first on divine confirmation and then on wholehearted perseverance. He also gave some astonishing examples of the power that is generated from focusing one's mental faculties on a single goal. He gave the example of the heat that's created through the concentration of light at one point, and the preassure that is generated by the concentration of steam in an enclosed space, and other similar examples" (p.331)

"Regard not thyself. Look to the Abha Kingdom so that the confirmations may reach thee. Education requires absolute concentration and wholehearted commitment so as to attract divine confirmations. Do not consider the attraction of devine bounty to be proportionate to your capabilities and talents. Rely upon the heaven of mercy and generosity and be confident. Be confident." (p. 333)

"In any and all endevours, devine confirmation is wholly dependant on action. Persevere so that the hosts of devine bounty may assist you. ... The hosts of devine blessings are poised behind this very window waiting for you to act. ... Divine confirmation is dependant on action" (p.334)

"He issued further instructions concerning the strenghening of one's faith... He gave a detailed explanation of the virtue of piety and the benefits of the fear of God. "
